The Seer


Day one of painting 

With this painting i am taking a different approach, instead of spending days on end planning the colour, composition and drawing out details i decided to go straight to the canvas, not worrying about it looking too perfect. I used my fingers for most of the painting, as i felt the brush was too restricting. The result is shown below, about 2 hours of painting, although it is far from finished!

Day two

Today i have been working on the face, hands and building up overall form by loosely marking out the dark to mid tones. I have decided to move the hand as the body position was too tense and was bothering me! The results of today's painting is shown below (about 6 hours);

Day three 

Today i have just worked on the face a little more, and I'm still not sure where to place that awkward hand! Below are the results (1 hours painting):
